Attleborough was once famous for its cider works, portrayed on the town sign, and for producing turkeys, which used to make the journey to the London markets on foot. This large replacement 5-bedroomed property is located on the outskirts of the town, built by an independent developer who has been specializing in small developments since the early 1990s.

Situated in the grounds of an old house, now demolished, with a large and well-established garden, incorporating several mature trees, the company recognised the importance of the property’s country location and plot orientation, designing the style of the building and selecting building materials with these factors in mind.

The developers used time-honored building techniques that required a traditional brick which was similar to the old Norfolk Red.  The brick choice was made by the developers Managing Director who has served a long brick-laying apprentice and who is highly knowledgeable about bricks. Our Bovingdon Berry Multi on the Red-side brick was selected as it was judged to be closest to the colour and style to the local brick; laid in Flemish bond brickwork, using white lime mortar and incorporating special shaped plinth bricks and flat gauged arches, all of which are sympathetic to the locality and complement the surroundings.

Bovingdon bricks were used both in the building of the interior and exterior of the house as well as the garden helping to give an excellent combination of materials, design and workmanship.
