Private House, Great Canfield, Essex

This fabulous fifteen hundred square metre country house is a credit to all involved in its design and construction.

The overall design was inspired by the world renowned architect Quinlan Terry (Erith and Terry Architects) who created a grand four storey residence (including basement) with separate staff quarters.

Over 150,000 Bovingdon handmade red multi facing bricks were individually sorted to achieve a precisely defined colour mix within every layer of each pack. This bespoke mixing achieves a totally original and unique appearance in keeping with this prestigious house.

Laid in period cut mortar joints, the brickwork is outstanding. The photos indicate the impressive nature of the building which will give pleasure to many generations and be regarded as a leading piece of classical architecture.
