Wroxham is set on the northerly edge of the Broads National Park in Norfolk which encompasses 125 miles of boating on lock-free tidal rivers.

Wroxahm is separated from the village of Hoveton St. John by a road bridge over the River Bure and although the majority of the village facilities are actually in Hoveton the two are generally known as Wroxham, which is considered by some to be the capital of the Norfolk Broads.

This property is situated at the top of Barton Broad and was built by a local boat builder being completed in around 2001. An older property was demolished to make way for this striking and individual home.

Our traditional Bovingdon Handmade Rural Multi, supplied in specially blended packs, was selected as an ideal match for old Norfolk bricks as recommended by the Broads Authority who are responsible for planning matters in and around the Broads National Park.

The brickwork features some interesting details such as the inclusion of special shaped bricks in the Plinth Stretcher detail to the back of the house, Flemish bond being used up to the plinth level, with Stretcher bond being used above the plinth level and raised string bands around the chimney.

More obvious detail to the property includes a traditional thatch roof, leaded timber windows and the innovative use of GRP panels, made by the client himself to produce a stone effect corbel to the Oriel Windows.
